BAG

1. Lay the jeans flat on the work surface with the front facing up. Cut straight across above the crotch.

2. With the top of the jeans on your work surface, turn one pant leg horizontally and line it up with the bottom of the top section. Mark the width of the top section on the pant leg. Mark and add a ½" (13mm) seam allowance to each side. Cut the pant leg with each side slightly flaring out at the bottom.

3. Cut the (in)seam off at the top of the pant leg.

4. With the right sides of the pant leg together, machine-stitch the side seams using a ½" (13mm) seam allowance.

5. With the right sides together, pin the pant leg to the top section of the jeans, lining up the unfinished edges. Pin into place.

6. Machine-stitch using a ¼" (6mm) seam allowance. Turn the right side out and press, if necessary.

7. The canvas belt will be used as your bag strap. Remove any hardware. Determine how long you would like the strap to be, then mark it and cut.

8. Place the strap on the inside of each waistband side seam and pin in place.

9. Machine-sew an X and then a square around the X at each end of the strap to attach it to the waistband.
